Derek qualified as a solicitor in October 1974. He is also a Legal Associate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. He was a Partner in the firm Middleton & Wilson, later Hayton Middleton & Wilson 1983-1990. He became sole practitioner in the firm Middletons in Lancaster 1990 – 2009. He joined Holdens as a part time Consultant in August of 2009 to date and is based at our Kendal office. He serves both new and established clients from both offices. Derek is a Member of the Duty Solicitor Scheme serving Lancaster and Kendal Police Stations and Magistrates Courts.

He is also a specialist in residential and commercial conveyancing, wills and probate and town and country planning law. Derek will carry out home or hospital visits to clients if necessary.

Derek is a Member of Silverdale Golf Club and Bentham & District 41 (Ex Round Tablers) Club and an Ardent Bolton Wanderers supporter!
